The House

Hopefully you fall in love with Wildwood the moment you drove up the tree-kissed drive.

Though Wildwood’s five secluded acres might compel you to stay put, you’re now just 5 minutes south of adorable Saugatuck/Douglas, and minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan, Our family relishes every moment spent together here and we think you'll love it too.

We’ve warmly imagined Wildwood’s setup and amenities with time together in mind. Below are some key amenities to notice and enjoy.

The upstairs living room’s wood-burning fireplace is perfect for cool weather, the Sonos sets the mood with your favorite music.

The kitchen features a 5-burner stove, stainless steel appliances, a deep farmhouse sink and touch-less faucet. We often spend Thanksgiving at Wildwood, and have stocked the kitchen accordingly for cooking magnificent meals. Bonus: enjoy the automated espresso machine.

Outside the kitchen on the deck is an extra-large gas webber grill, perfect for large groups, who fit well around the long outdoor dining table.

Each bedroom takes its name from a different national park and is decorated accordingly, anchored by a warm Pendelton wool blanket and 400 thread count sheets.

Downstairs' main living room has the most cushy, giant sectional you’ll ever meet, making it perfect for movie night with Xfinity TV, Netflix, Hulu & Sonos. It’s also idea for a good game night (a variety of games are upstairs in the closet), a SNES Classic battle or a shuffleboard tournament.

Wander a bit into the woods and you’ll find one of our favorite spots, the fire pit. Surrounded by adirondack chairs, there’s nothing better than enjoying a warm fire on a cool evening while gazing up at the stars. Keep going and you may find a little trail for quick strolls through the woods.

And of course, who doesn’t love a good hot-tub. With room for 7, the hot tub is treated regularly (and especially between rentals), making it perfect for relaxing in the morning and under the stars at night.

truly in the woods

Wildwood is truly in the woods, sitting on nearly 5 glorious acres. (There is also zero homes located directly to the south, so wandering in the woods is encouraged.) You’ll find pines, maples, weeds, wild flowers, cotton tails, streams, muck, bare forrest floors and all the woodland creatures you’d expect to find in them - including mosquitos. We do spray for them, but highly recommend that you prepare accordingly and bring repellent.

The Property

The house itself is unique in a number of ways. It's very close to the charm of Saugatuck of course, but its rural location and winding driveway that reveals the charming home that made us really fall in love. And the design of the house is certainly not typical for the area, which we appreciated. It's not quite a cabin, not quite a country home. It's a little of each, which really suits us all.

We've outfitted it with decor that evokes our travels, and is quite different than our own homes. And because we enjoy the fresh air outside, a fire pit for the evenings and a hot tub for relaxing were both very necessary. What we think we've created is a getaway that is cozy, begging for memories to be made. We've certainly enjoyed every moment spent here and hope you will too.
