How to use the…
The fireplace & fire pit
Feel free to use both the fireplace inside and the fire pit out back. Please note that wood for burning is no supplied, and we ask that you don't chop down any trees or break any branches off from the surrounding woods for firewood.
For the fireplace inside, please ensure that the flue is open before starting a fire. While enjoying your fire, obviously be safe. Ensure the screen is closed to prevent sparks from leaping out of the fireplace. And be sure to practice safety while enjoying your fire - use the tools provided next to the fireplace.
As for the fire pit, use it like a fire pit. Insert wood and burn. When finished, please extinguish. There’s a bucket in the closet for water.
For both, please don't worry about cleaning up your ashes. We’ll take care of that after your departure. Just enjoy the fire!
Weber Grill
On the back deck is a large capacity Weber Grill. Please feel free to use it whenever you like. To ensure that it remains operational for future guests to enjoy as well, we ask for a little help maintaining while you visit.
As it is propane fueled, you'll have to turn on the tank located under the grill when you want to use it. Turn the tank all the way on, and then follow the instructions on the front starter panel to light the grill.
After you've finished grilling your meal, please turn all gas-nobs to off twist to turn the propane tank off to conserve gas.
Sometimes fat or burnt cheese or whatever might get stuck on the grates. To keep your food tasting good, please use the grill brush (found under the grill) to clean up any debris before and after you grill.
If you have a grease fire, simply close the lid and shut off the burners with the front nobs.
When not using, please place the grill cover back on the grill (please make sure the grill is cool to the touch before placement).
Grilling tools are located in the kitchen.
