The best eats and drinks - Douglas & beyond

If you think the options stop in Staugatuck you’d be wrong. When you don’t feel like dealing with the crowds, consider our other favorite in Douglas, Fennville and elsewhere. If visiting in the off-season, make sure you double check the spot is open as many businesses close in the winter months.

Saugatuck Interurban Bus

Low-cost ($1 for adults, 50¢ for seniors/kid) on-demand shuttle rides throughout the area (including Saugatuck, Douglas and south to 124th Ave). Call 269-857-1418 to arrange a pick-up.

Douglas

The Farmhouse Deli & Pantry

Saugatuck Brewing Company

Great brewery just down Blue Star highway.  Delicious seasonal brews and good bar food. Stop by for a tasting or even make your own!

Charming spot for wine and small plates with regular live music.

J Petter Galleries

Half wine-bar, half art gallery, J Petter Galleries is a terrific place to stop by for a cheese plate, a glass of wine, and exploring the works of locally renowned artists.

Virtue Cider

2170 62nd Street, Fennville | (269) 650-0668

Unlike any other place you’ve been, this incredibly quaint hard-cidery features European style ciders, weekly markets and an adorable cat that lives in the tasting-room named Pippin. One of our very favorite spots in the area. They always seem to be doing something fun, so make sure you check their calendar of events.

Fennville & Surrounding Area

Crane's Pie Pantry Restaurant & Winery

6054 124th Avenue, Fennville | (269) 561-2297

Crane’s is a legendary local apple orchard with the best pies in the area, hands-down. Reasonably priced, the inside is kind of a non-chain Crackerbarrel.

Fenn Valley Vineyards

6130 122nd Avenue, Fennville | (269) 561-2396

Decent little vineyard is set on an idyllic little spot.

Cogdal Vineyards

7143 107th Ave, South Haven | (269) 637-2229

Our favorite nearest vineyard, Cogdal sits surrounded by towering pines and is pure Michigan.

Mcintosh Cellars

6431 107th Ave, South Haven | (269) 637-7922

Super cute converted farm house surrounded by fruit trees, specializing in sparkling ciders, and surprisingly delicious fruit wine.

Salt of the Earth

114 East Main Street, Fennville | (269) 561-7258

Our favorite restaurant in the area. Amazing local, farm-to-table restaurant with a menu that’s always changing and excellent cocktails and local beer selection.

Waypost Brewing Company

1630 Blue Star Hwy, Fennville | (269) 496-5096

About 10 minutes south of Wildwood on Blue Star Highway is this terrific spot for amazing craft beer. Stop by for good local company, a Scandinavian vibe and interesting takes on farm-beers (from their farm, no-less) as well as regular live music, BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) night and a BBQ food-truck parked for the summer months.

What-Not-Inn

2405 68th Street, Fennville | (269) 543-3341

Definitive old-school divey midwestern-style supper club with live music every weekend and some of the best burgers in the area ($5 special Thursday nights!) One of our favorites, and not only because it’s just around the corner.
